An English paper says the greatest female singer in Iceland, Bjork (32 years old) may be going to own an island in Scotland. She is planning to buy Ireen Lee Island located to the west of the western coast of Scotland. It is a wild and barren island and has neither electricity nor telephone. It was brought to the market for 500 thousand pounds( about 100 million yen ). They say Bjork visited the island to inspect it. Once this island was owned by Sir Leginald Fleming Johnstone, the tutor of Fugi (the last emperor of Ching dynasty). On the island is the house having a guestroom with his name. Since two years ago, when an parcel applied some medicine was sent to her home in London, Bjork is anxious about protecting her private life with her son.
Bjork narrowly escaped from a bomb
A 21-year old American ,Lopez was so jealous of the ex-boyfriend of Bjork, Goldie that he sent Bjork a bomb and killed himselfjust after that. This accident became known because he had recorded all the process from making the bomb to the moment he killed himself with a gun with Bjork's songs as its background music. And his neighbor found strange smell from his room and tell it to the police. Fortunately, it was 2 days before the bomb was supposed to be delivered to Bjork. So Bjork and his son Sindri could narrowly escaped from the bomb explosion......But , to our regret, Bjork and Goldie got divorced after this.
Hitting a reporter (96.February)
February 19, 1996, a reporter named Julie Kaufman rushed to Bjork and her son, Sindri when they arrived at Bangkok International Airport , Thailand. Then all of a sudden Bjork jumped at the reporter , caught her by the hair, and flung her on the concrete floor .They say she had been completely exhausted in the live tour and in a terribly bad mood. The reason of this accident seems to be the poor sales of the tickets for the Asia tour and the reporter's sudden approach to her son who Bjork had been protecting from mass media. Later , Bjork apologized publicly with a public writtern statement . For Kaufman, Bjork herself apolpgized to her on the phone.
Bjork cancelled all the performances of America tour, in spite of her great success in "Homogenic", her latest album. According to "Elektra", her label in America, Bjork was sent to a hospital with a kidney trouble. she left hospital four days later, but she is taking a rest until Chrismas time. We wish her quick recovery!

Around July, 1997 , the title of lady was conferred on Bjork by the President of Iceland. As we don't have that kind of class systemin Japan, we can't imagine how it is like in Iceland. But, anyway, congratulations, Lady Bjork!
One-sided love from Tricky
It was when Bjork and Goldie was in love that Tricky suddenly attacked Goldie at the concert of Goldie at Roxy, New York in October, 1996. On seeing this attack, Bjork hit Tricky, then Goldie got mad at Bjork . They say there began a fight over Bjork.
